Tour de Yorkshire 2019

After being crowned 'Best Dressed Village' in 2018, we're delighted that the Tour de Yorkshire is coming back through the village for 2019.

Both the Women's & Men's race will be coming through the village on Friday 3rd May. The Women's Race is expected at 10:00am and the Men's Race at 15:35. We are also very lucky that the promotional Caravan will be stopping in Kippax once again at 13:35.

Road Closures are expected for 09:30-10:25am and 15:05-16:00.

Don't forget, these may change slightly depending on how fast (or slow!) the riders are going. So make sure you allow plenty of time if you're coming to watch the race or planning a journey.

The Parish Council, along with local businesses, groups and schools are working to make the celebrations even better this year. There will be bigger and better land art and installations, shop window displays, floral displays, flags, bunting and NEW FOR 2019, there will be two large screens - one outside the co-op and one opposite the Moorgate - so you can watch the race live as it approaches and passes the village, and enjoy celebrating with your neighbours and local villagers for longer!

Help for Heroes is Tour de Yorkshire's official charity this year, and we will be working with the charity to raise money in the village on the ay.
